Originally from Denver, CO, Dr. Robert Roden, OD earned his optometry degree from the Arizona College of Optometry at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. He then completed additional training in an optometric residency in ocular disease at the Thomas E. Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Amarillo, TX. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Biochemistry at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. At BYU, Dr. Roden’s passion is researching new treatments for neovascular eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and cancer. He is fluent in Spanish and enjoys helping patients optimize their vision to see their very best.
He is a great asset to our team and has shown a broad reach in patient demographics and care serving across the country including an internship with the Chickasaw Nation Indian Health services in Oklahoma. From Jacksonville, FL to the great southwest, we are glad that Dr. Roden has found a home at Clarus Vision Clinic here in the Salt Lake Valley.

Dr. Roden enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and three sons. He is an avid guitar player who loves running and playing ice hockey.
